- Don't run other CPU intensive programs at the same time.

 - Do clear the Internet Explorer cache

 - Do disable file sharing applications like bittorrent, kaZaa, imesh etc.

If streaming video freezes,

 - Disable personal firewall

 - Ensure you are not sharing your network point with a hub
